Tucson 2024 Redistricting: "Preserving the Equality of Voting Power for all Tucsonians"

Background: Federal law requires redistricting following every ten-year census. In addition, Tucson's City Charter dictates that beginning with the year 2000, the City of Tucson must review the ward boundaries again at regular intervals following the ten-year census.  The City is currently engaging in that process with the required 7-person Advisory Committee.

The Mayor/Council Redistricting Advisory Committee continues to meet and are not recommending redistricting changes for this cycle. However, they have scheduled additional meetings to continue to discuss "rough proportionality".

The following is the current schedule.

       Monday, October 7, 5:00 pm,    Mayor/Council Chambers

If you are concerned about the possibility of the boundaries of your neighborhoods being shifted, we encourage you to attend these meetings.
