in honor of the Veterans Federal Holiday | Our League Heroes
What makes a hero? Someone who goes above and beyond for the greater good. What makes a LWVGT hero? Someone who goes above and beyond all the time for our League. Because their work is often behind the scenes, we don’t always know what our League Heroes do. Once a month, TWGT features one of these outstanding individuals to give you a snapshot of their important contributions. This month, we are proud to honor a group of outstanding individuals--known as the Voter Services/Ready Set Vote 2024 Committee. | Linda Maccabe, Barbara Becker, Sue DeArmond, Kathy Lalley, Emily Rickets, Pat Markey, Fran McNeely, Mary Davis, Murray DeArmond, and Regina Brandt. - Hosted nine candidate forums
- Trained and encouraged Letters to the Editor members
- Provided information about local area propositions for the Vote411 website
- Canvased low voter turnout neighborhoods
- Organized and distributed 20,000 Get Out The Vote postcards
- Presented 13 proposition information community meetings
