LWVGT lost a dear member with the passing of Bobbie VandeGriff on May 21, 2021. Bobbie was a champion for the underserved and worked tirelessly for the LGBTQ population and those suffering from HIV.
Bobbie was a "regular" at LWVGT's Saturday morning education programs. As a champion of social justice, she was an active member of the LWVGT Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She encouraged her friends to join the League, and generously shared her financial resources to support the League's Voter Education Programs.
A native of California Bobbie and her husband Don moved to Tucson when Don was transferred to the area.
Bobbie's longtime friend and LWVGT member Dottie Davis said, "I was always amazed by Bobbie's absolute delight in every class we ever attended, every place we ever went, and every person she met. She taught me lessons about being a kinder person." Bobbie is survived by her husband Don, an LWVGT member, her daughter Cindy Corkum, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, and several loved cousins.
LWVGT members and friends are encouraged to make a
contribution to the Endowment Fund in Bobbie's memory.
