The League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson is holding three forums for Tucson City Council Wards
3, 5 and 6. Details are:
Ward 3: Saturday, June 21st from 10:30-11:30 a.m
Flowing Wells Library, 1730 W. Wetmore Rd, in the multi-purpose room
Candidates: Kevin Dahl (D), Sadie Shaw (D) and Janet Wittenbraker (R)
Ward 5: Thursday, June 26th from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Valencia Library, 202 W. Valencia Rd, in the large meeting room
Candidates: Selina Barajas (D), Chris Elsner (D), and Jesse Lugo (D)
Ward 6: Tuesday, July 1st from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Martha Cooper Library, 1377 N. Catalina Ave, in the large meeting room
Candidates: Leighton Rockafellow, Jr. (D), Miranda Schubert (D), James Sinex (D) and Jay Tolkoff (R)
The format of the forums will be:
• A Moderator will introduce all the candidates.
• Opening statements: each candidate will have 2 minutes to speak about his/her positions on major
issues of interest to the community and his/her personal background.
• Questions from the audience: written questions will be collected and asked of the candidates by the
Moderator. All candidates will have 90 seconds to answer.
• Closing statements: each candidate will have two minutes for closing statements.
All forums are open to the public. Please note that anyone attending the forum will not be allowed to
wear campaign t-shirts, buttons or carry signs in support of any one candidate.
No posters or yard signs are allowed in the forum room. The purpose of these forums is to provide
attendees an opportunity to listen and learn about candidate’s positions before they vote. As per the
Pima County Public Library Code of Conduct, guns, weapons, or other items designed or intended to
harm people are not allowed on library property.
