 What is This Week in Greater Tucson?  This Week in Greater Tucson (TWGT) will arrive in your inbox on most Monday mornings providing a quick overview of what is happening in the LWVGT in the coming week, the links for more information, and the links to the virtual meetings.  It will also provide information on events that may be of interest happening within the State of AZ and LWVUS.  
 
During the summer, This Week In Greater Tucson will be published again on Mondays: July 21, August 4, and August 18.  Regular weekly publication will resume Monday, September 1.
 
 If you have content you wish to share with This Week in Greater Tucson, please complete the TWGT Form . To access the site, first you must log in as a member. Please note: the deadline for submissions is Noon the Saturday before Monday's email.

Pay the Rent 2025
We'll Pay the Rent!
 
We'll Pay the Rent is a fundraising project requesting members to donate money that will go directly to paying the rent of the League office for one year. Members (and committees) can sponsor a day, week or month of the office rent. Donations requested are $30 for one day$200 for one week and $900 for one month.  To Pay The Rent

The rent for the first two weeks of July was paid by Cheri Sprenger and an Anonymous Donor.  We thank them.
 

LWVGT is an all volunteer organization.  
Come meet new members, greet old friends, 
and work together to strengthen our democracy!
Volunteer opportunities are now open for several upcoming events.

These items are one time opportunities and commitments: 
  • Naturalization Ceremony at Evo A DeConcini Courthouse
    • AM Ceremony  10am – Noon;  
    • PM Ceremony   1:30 - 3:30 pm
    • July 11, July 18, August 8, August 22, September 12, September 19
  • Voter Registration Table at Naturalization Ceremony (requires recent prior voter registration training): (Off-Site Ceremonies)  
    • Wednesday, September 17 - Tumacacori National Historic Park  9 - 11 am

  • Volunteer for a shift as a Desk Volunteer at the LWVGT Office.  This is a twice monthly commitment for nine months.  
  • Help plan for our annual Legislative Breakfast in November.
  • Help plan a Public Program
  • Help plan a LWVGT Social Event for members.

Join the Events and Fundraising Committee
 
This committee manages the LWVGT fundraising activities and supports LWVGT committees conducting special events. 

Events include: Annual Meeting, Holiday Brunch, Legislative Breakfast, Past President’s Luncheon, Running and Winning, Issues and Eggs Breakfast Forum, and Pay the Rent Campaign.

The Fundraising Committee helps create, plan and implement fundraising activities and events. Currently, the League’s primary fundraising event is Issues and Eggs Breakfast Forum.  The We'll Pay the Rent Campaign is a new fundraising activity.
