PIMA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVES 2024 LEGISLATIVE AGENDA

Government body: Pima County Board of Supervisors
Meeting date: August 8, 2023

The Pima County Board of Supervisors Approved:
•  2024 Legislative Agenda,  the plan of what county lobbyists are to target for advocacy at the state legislature.  
Three amendments were made prior to approval:
To return county control for regulation of for-profit pet stores selling dogs and cats (the County had regulation in place in 2014, but it was overturned by state in 2016).
Edit of word “roads” to “transportation.”
To support the return of state funding for full-day kindergarten.

Supervisors Grijalva, Heinz and Scott voted in favor of the plan; Supervisors Christy and Bronson voted against it.

• Funds for Election Equipment
A request for funds to replace end-of-life printers in both the County recorders and elections offices, with the additional expenses coming from the general fund.  Supervisors Grijalva, Heinz and Scott voted in favor of the funding request; Supervisors Christy and Bronson voted against it.
