In 2019, the League of Women Voters of the United States launched the People Powered Fair MapsTM in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. This project has prompted state and local-led actions focused on creating transparent redistricting processes that involve citizens and ensure the needs of communities, rather than elected officials, are represented as district maps are drawn.

Community redistricting has already begun and on September 30, the League of Women Voters of the United States will host a Facebook Live discussion outlining what this means and how to get involved. League of Women Voters President Dr. Turner will moderate a discussion with panelists who include:

  • Jamal Watkins, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Advancement with NAACP
  • Saundra Mitrovich, Civic Engagement Associate with National Congress of American Indians (NCAI)
  • Raymond Partolan, National Field Director with Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIA Vote)
