The seat was vacated by former Pima County Treasurer Beth Ford, who on March 11 notified the Board of Supervisors of her intent to resign effective Friday, April 12. Ford, a Republican who was elected to a sixth term as Treasurer in 2020, must be replaced during the interim by another Republican according to state law.

The two applicants seeking the appointment are John Christopher Ackerley and Patti E. Davidson. Ackerley is a candidate seeking the seat in the 2024 elections. Davidson is not.

The applicants’ letters of interest, resumes, financial disclosure statements, and conflict of interest forms can be found in theClerk of the Board’s April 1 memo to the Board of Supervisors. The memo also contains material from a third applicant, Raymond J. Carroll, who has since withdrawn his application.

The public is invited to participate in the forum. Questions for the candidates are welcome, and may be submitted through the streaming app’s chat function.
